Artist Bio

Yes…my name in pronounced Fee-roo’-zay.

I have been making jewelry, clothing, and accessories since I was a small kid.  I made my doll a dress at age 3, and myself a dress at age 8.  My mom only allowed me to use glue, not a needle.  She often wondered… what will she create next?

That passion has stayed with me through adulthood.  In 1993, after studying industrial design and metal smithing, I merged those learned skills with my interest in fashion and began Firoozeh, Inc. I incorporate semi-precious stones, leather, chain-mill, resin, metal, fabric and other unusual materials to create accessories that convey both beauty and originality.

My hand-crafted personal and home accessories capture and set the latest trends in contemporary fashion. My vision for each piece comes from shapes and patterns I see in nature.  I use these ideas to create art that manifests a client’s self-expression.

I have been a featured artist on the “Do-It-Yourself” (DIY) television network. I was also commissioned by Stuart Weitzman Company to create avant-guarde shoe designs for their window displays. Some of these specially designed “fantasy art shoes” were published in the Jane Weitzman book, “Art and Sole”.

My work has been in more than 50 galleries, museum shops, specialty boutiques, and department stores across the USA, Canada, and Japan, including Saks Fifth Avenue and Jacobson’s.

I have participated in numerous juried retail and trade shows across the United States that spotlight artisans of hand-crafted items, including: “Hand-made in America” show in New York City, The Rosen Show, the American Craft Council shows in San Francisco, Chicago, and Baltimore, the “American Artisans” show in Nashville, TN, Atlanta’s “Dogwood Festival”, and the “Piccolo Spoleto Festival” in Charleston, S. C., among others.

I work from my studio near Atlanta, GA.
